DIVE INTO MUSIC

The biggest challenge is keeping that inner child alive. Not to lose that colourful vision of the world. Because, too much thinking and theories can so easily destroy all the magic. And then – what stays? Chat GPT? AI? 🙂 And who are we? What are we doing here? If you ask me, we are kids who are here to experience all the palette of the emotions, to grow in a spiritual way. And for me, music is the most important fuel for this world. Not just music, but art in general, but I will be focusing on music because I have known her for a long time. 😀

Music saved me so many times. It showed me a way, how to fly away from the tough times I had experienced when I was an 8-year-old kid, with so many serious illnesses in my family. IT was a hard period, but – music was my key to another portal, my safe space. From the first moment I heard my classmate playing the keyboard, I had just fallen in love, and that was 27 years ago. From that moment on, I dreamed of becoming a pianist. But, the road to achieving that was so much less steady and longer than I could’ve imagined back then. Because of the hard situation in our home, there was no money for a piano or even a keyboard, but we had my mom’s accordion.

She said: ‘Start with accordion, and then, one day, when the financial situation improves, we will get you a keyboard’.I just wanted to play, to dive into music. The funny thing is, I learned to play the accordion from my neighbour, Mirjana, who was actually a piano player. Not long after I started, every accordion lesson began with 10 minutes of me playing on her upright piano. I can still remember the smell of that piano and that room. Beautiful memories.

TWO YEARS LATER

When I was 11 years old – I started playing for the whole summer season on the tourist boats in my hometown, Opatija- 120 people every day on board, from 9 in the morning until 7 in the evening. I played so many songs, evergreens, on my accordion for those 7 years. With that money, I bought my first keyboard, and later sound equipment for my first band. With that money, I started to take my first jazz piano lessons when I was 12. In short, with those gigs, and my cover band gigs, and other accordion gigs, I was able to invest all that money to achieve my dream. There were hundreds and hundreds of gigs that I played, until I was 18 years old.

Dreams

But, my dream always remained the same – to become a pianist and composer. To have that life. The road was long, as you can imagine. But – I am here, and I became a pianist and composer. I play my concerts, I share my stories through my music. I inspire people. And you know what? I believe I will write more about my musical journey because I just got some special feeling, the taste of those memories, but at the same time – a taste of pride, that I achieved my biggest dream, even though it seemed impossible. And you know what’s funny? All adult musicians told me, a long time ago:’ You dream too much, you will become more realistic year by year.. But here I am, more ready than ever—ready to fly, to dream, to explore, and to achieve..

You can’t even imagine how happy and excited I am right now, because we’re at the start of a beautiful journey—and I’m ready to take all of you along with me. To create something even more magical, bolder, and more daring than anything I’ve ever done before.. Someone might say: ‘This guy is crazy.. unrealistic.. ‘ That’s fine, because I heard it so many times in my life, and thanks to God, I never listened to all the voices of fear I was surrounded by. It was their fear, their disability to dream, to stand up and fight for their dreams. But me, I am a bit different .. Because I had to learn to fight for myself a long time ago.. Enough writing for today.

My piano is waiting for me. Enjoy your day and keep the music alive! Zvjezdan
